Christmas in Gudhjem 4–6 December 2026 – Christmas market on Bornholm
From Friday 4 to Sunday 6 December 2026, Gudhjem becomes a Christmas town. For the first time in many years there is a Christmas market in Brøddegade – right outside the door at Skt. Jørgens Gaard.

The street is lined with Christmas stalls selling mulled wine, roasted almonds, glazed apples, Christmas trees and iron hearts. Father Christmas walks around handing out sweets, and children and adults can hunt for the mischievous Christmas elves around town.
The square and the shops are open on Friday and Saturday from 12 to 7 pm and on Sunday from 12 to 5 pm.
Every afternoon at 4 pm, Solveig reads Hans Christian Andersen's Christmas tales aloud (in Danish) at Therns Library.
Christmas music quiz at Jylkat on Saturday at 5 pm
On Saturday 5 December at 5 pm we host a Christmas music quiz at Jylkat by the harbour in Gudhjem. It is free to join, and there are good prizes. Book a table at jylkat-bar.dk/bordbestilling to be sure of a seat.
Danish Christmas platter and Christmas lunch at Jylkat
From 27 November to 20 December, Jylkat serves a Danish Christmas platter Thursday to Sunday from 12 to 9 pm for DKK 375 per person: spiced herring from Christiansø, lobster salad, hot-smoked salmon, roast beef, Christmas sausage and a Christmas hot dog with duck confit.
