December 23 – Arrival and Christmas Welcome
Arrive to a calm and cozy Christmas atmosphere by the cliffs. At 3:30 p.m., we warmly welcome you in the café with a choice of our homemade mulled wine or a glass of bubbles, served with homemade pastries, coffee, and tea.
The evening continues with a 2-course dinner including wine pairing.
Starter: Tuna tartare with avocado, lemon, crispy rye bread croutons, and fresh herbs.
Main course: Roasted veal tenderloin with glazed root vegetables, potato gratin, and red wine sauce.
December 24 – Christmas Eve at Plateau
The day begins with a morning brunch at Hotel Klippen.
At 3:00 p.m., we gather for afternoon coziness in the café with mulled wine, coffee/tea, and homemade pastries.
At 5:30 p.m., the Christmas dinner is served with wine for each course:
Starter: Jerusalem artichoke soup with roasted mushrooms and crispy herbs.
Main course: Duck breast with orange sauce, caramelized potatoes, red cabbage, and Brussels sprouts.
Dessert: Danish rice pudding with cherry sauce and the traditional almond gift.
After dinner, enjoy cognac, petit fours, and coffee/tea along with a cozy round of Christmas bingo with small prizes. The evening concludes with Christmas peace and a warm festive atmosphere.
December 25 – Departure
Morning brunch at Hotel Klippen before you head home with wonderful Christmas memories from Bornholm.

Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed with homemade Christmas treats – ginger cookies, orange–pistachio biscotti, and small vanilla wreaths – served with a glass of warm mulled wine made with port, Christmas spices, and roasted almonds. Enjoy the calm, the sea view, and the special December atmosphere before the evening experience begins at Café Plateau.
The evening starts with a glass of crisp Prosecco, followed by a 3-course Christmas dinner crafted with love for both tradition and renewal:
Starter
Duck confit with pickled beets, apple compote, frisée salad, and roasted hazelnuts. Served with white wine.
Main course
Slow-braised veal brisket with baked Jerusalem artichokes, caramelized onions, kale, and mashed potatoes with browned butter and apple vinegar. Served with red wine.
Dessert
Baked apple with mascarpone cream, honey-roasted nuts, and a hint of cinnamon. Served with dessert wine.
The evening concludes with coffee or tea, a small glass of Christmas liqueur, and a selection of petit fours – all in Café Plateau’s warm and atmospheric surroundings.
The next morning, breakfast is served at Hotel Klippen with the most beautiful sea view. Here you can enjoy the tranquility before heading out to explore wintery Gudhjem or visit one of Bornholm’s charming Christmas markets.
